This is not a window

You can still find lovely houses in Sikkim, although the traditional wood frame construction is giving way to brick and concrete. As we walked into Hilley village we saw a beautiful hcabin made from wooden planks. This is not common, but not unknown either. It was painted a beautiful shade of green. The window frame was white, but the window was boarded up. The planks of the walls and the boarded up window were placed at right angles to each other. This contrast was emphasized by the contrast of colours. It was a beautiful in a totally ordinary way. And I did like the knot in the wood.

This is my week’s contribution to Photrablogger’s mundane Monday challenge and to Narami’s Tuesdays of texture.

I travel on work. When that gets too tiring then I relax by travelling for holidays. The holidays are pretty hectic, so I need to unwind by getting back home. But that means work.
