A summer garden

Foxgloves in the Pena Palace in Sintra, Portugal

We walked through the garden around the Pena Palace in Sintra and came to a stand of foxgloves. Although these are rather common, garden variety of flowers, so to say, in Europe, I haven’t seen these flowers in India yet. We looked at the flowers hanging in a bunch of bells. We loved the colour and the pattern. When I took the photo the summer light was warm on them. The cherry on top were the hairs on the petals which seem to capture the light into a halo around the flowers.

In fact, the light is so beautiful that you can forget about the colour and just look at it in black and white. I could not decide which to keep. What do you think?
